Fusion Splicing
Electrum Mauritius Ltd has imported a large number of fusion splicing machines in Mauritius. The splicing machines are used to connect optical fibers with superior precision to ensure data are transmitted reliably anywhere.
At Electrum, Fusion splicing and termination are done through world leading technology since we have imported the latest in the range of Fujikura 80 S ,the fastest fusion machines in the world.
Fiber Optics Testing
During the testing and commissioning stage of a fiber optics installation, Electrum Mauritius Ltd makes use of an Optical Time-Domain Reflectometre (OTDR) machine to produce the commissioning report which shall be approved then submitted to the customer.
Electrum Mauritius Ltd has imported a large number of these machines. The imported OTDR machine is used to characterize an optical fiber. An OTDR injects a series of optical pulses into the fiber under test. Therefore the OTDR shall be used for estimating the fiber length and overall attenuation, including splice and mated-connector losses. It shall also be used to locate faults, such as breaks, and to measure optical return loss.
Copper Testing
Following the installation of the Copper Cat x network, testing and commissioning shall be done. Test results shall be provided to our customer, using the latest of the Fluke imported range ,the Fluke DTX- 1800 Network Tester .The Fluke DTX -1800 performs Cat 5E/6/7 certification tests in just 12 seconds in full compliance with industry standards and with superior accuracy and warrants our installations which ensures that our customer has received professional services.
