In a recent deployment for a regional telecom operator in Madagascar, Electrum Mauritius Ltd was tasked with delivering a fully customised hardware solution for an ADSS fiber optics project in one of the island’s most demanding environments. The challenge: design a system capable of spanning over 120 meters, while enduring the intense wind loads of tropical cyclones, high UV radiation, and corrosive coastal conditions.

Electrum designed, developed, and manufactured a dedicated anchoring clamp together with a custom ADSS fiber optic cable, ensuring both components were precisely matched for mechanical performance and environmental durability. This clamp was specifically engineered to meet the long-span requirements of the project and to guarantee a secure and lasting installation in extreme outdoor settings.

The anchoring clamp features a self-adjusting wedge mechanism, which protects the cable jacket while allowing for fast, tool-free installation using open wire bails. Its construction combines UV-stabilised polymers and corrosion-resistant materials, offering resilience under sustained environmental stress.

As part of a complete system delivery, Electrum also provided Universal Pole Brackets (UBPs), Stainless Steel Banding Buckles, ADSS Cable Storage Brackets, and Suspension Clamps—each element selected for compatibility and ease of deployment.
